Julian – 2 yr old pug boy
Julian is a wonderful pug, but has a sad story. He was tied to a volunteers’ fence on a cold, rainy Monday evening. The excuse was the lady has to look after her baby grandson and julian has to go.
Seeing that he loves people so much and such a gentle and quiet boy, we quickly took him in, went to the vet and got a check up.
It was obvious that Julian was once loved as he was trusting and easy, but he soon got put on the shelf and wasn’t given the medical care that any dogs need. He was tested heartworm positive. What this means is that worms have infested his heart and excitement, change, stress etc will clog the heart and kill Julian. You can’t kill off the worms immediately as again, the worms would die and clog up the heart. The only way is to kill it off slowly, but over the coming months, Julian cannot be exicted, he cannot do much exercise and heartworm is deadly, so care has to be given.
Julian is currently in foster care, but needs a perm home. If you can sponsor his med bills, that would help a lot too. To adopt Julian, please contact jen@lap.org.hk.
Donations can be made to LAP (HSBC) 400-399978-838 Lifelong Animal Protection Charity. Pls email deposit receipt to jen@lap.org.hk
Let’s help Julian!
Mishka – male husky 2 yrs old
Mishka is one of the AFCD dogs that we took in last week. He’s settling in well with his family and gets on well with other dogs. He’s just two years old and knows his manners. Mishka is slightly underweight, but definitely gaining confidence.
borzoi?
We’re recently been given 2x borzoi puppies (F) at 4 months old. We’ve never been passed these dogs before and definitely not so young. Very sweet dogs. First I’m come across them… Large in size, shorthaired. It’ll grow to be larger than an Afghan I’m told. Personality are naturally shy. Interested adopters should call me or email me directly. Thanks!
marble the golden and joy the multibreed have a home!
Been a good wkend for LAP, two doggies have found a home today. Marble a golden retriever boy has found himself a lovely home. Large home with helpers and children. Lucky Boy! Joy our recent 4 month old rescue from AFCD has also found herself a loving home.
Bear Bear and two huskies
New rescues today! Today a volunteer and myself went to Kowloon AFCD (first time in a long while as Kowloon AFCD were not always our ‘turf’) to pick up two huskies. The AFCD staff were helpful and helped with enthusiasm and knowledge. These two Huskies are only 2ish years old and has spent months on end in AFCD after being surrendered by their owners. They are well behaved and knows basic manners. Both male dogs and of course undesexed yet, but still very well behaved.
As we’re processing the paperworks, a lady came in with a medium sized poodle. Grey/brown, special colour. I played with the poodle for a while and thought not a lot. Until I overheard that she’s coming to surrender it! I immediately mentioned my role in LAP and urged her to pass me the dog. So this lucky fella never made it to AFCD and was whisked away to have his bits removed.
Bear Bear is 2 yrs old. Lovely in nature and not a tiny poodle. Good size. He is 11kgs.
Give Bear bear a home?
Recent rescues
It’s so hard to keep up with all the rescues and updating my blog, but I promise to do more…
There has been many recent developments, we had 5 shiba inus, of which two went to fosters. Another 3 are still looking for fosters. We’ve also got some puppies. A sheltie pup, a chihuahua pup and a shih tzu pup.
Yesterday, we rescued Daisy, a 5 year old Golden Retriever girl. She is friendly, very easy, loyal and lots of fun! Together with her is Joy, a 3 month old mongrel. Very cute, lots of energy and just delightful.
Thanks to Kln AFCD, we might we rescuing a 2 year old Husky tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it will go well!
